The Lavagna (Italy) exhibition at the Con-Temporary Art Observatorium ended at the beginning of the month, which had a very good press response. I just received the catalog of the exhibition, which includes the works on display, description of the exhibiting artists and art criticism.
With lots of love I share with you the art criticism about me.
Well, there's truth in it...
„Specialised in the oil painting, Ruth Schmidt demonstrates in her canvases an attentive perspicacity in the observation of society and human existence, and a sensibility for that original sentiment of natural harmony as well.
Her artworks, showing a pleasant and balanced style, are allegories expressed through a symbolism as much light as profound in analysing the attitudes of people, sometimes interpretend in a nearly sarcastic way.
With many prompts for an attentive beholder, several Schmidt’s paintings spur to the search for happiness by looking in the freedom given by the natural immediacy of simple things and beauty.
Other artworks tickle the common sense, nearly mocking the world’s afflictions and the mind-bending lucubrations of people living in a world of illusions and pointless and self-destructive ideologies.”
