Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640) was a Flemish painter, the most significant figure of his era's art alongside Rembrandt, and the creator of the unified image of 17th-century Flemish painting. His uniquely individual style exerted a great influence on the development of European painting then and on me now. My study painting of Venus and Adonis was created based on his painting.
