70×100 cm, oil on canvas

This painting is a tribute to my mother and the concept of motherhood, the unspoken burdens, sacrifices, and boundless love that motherhood embodies.

My father's unwavering dedication and commitment to providing for our family meant he spent less time at home, entrusting the responsibilities and joys of raising us primarily to the capable hands of our mother. Her deep faith in God, love, consistency, strength, and steadfast devotion shaped our lives in ways words cannot fully express. In the composition, the meerkat positioned at the center represents my mother, while the five meerkat pups symbolize my siblings and me. Each of us had our own unique personality, will and aspirations.

I chose meerkats for this painting because, with their alertness and social unity, they symbolize the collective resilience and interconnectedness of family life— illustrating that, despite our differences, we are bound by a shared foundation of love and care.
