I believe that this kind of communion creates a unique closeness\u2014one that deepens the connection on a level unattainable through words or deeds. By means of simplified human model figures (which symbolize vulnerability and, to me, the fact that we are created beings), I strip away individual identity to highlight the universality of this experience.
